This is a great program for people studying Shakespeare and those who enjoy his work. Antony Holland is a veteran British actor who has been performing Shakespeare on the stage since the age of 12. He also directs plays and teaches others at his facility on Gabriola Island.

The video includes Holland performing in an intimate setting and interview clips where he discusses techniques for actors and directors. At 86 years young, Holland brings energy and intensity to a one-man show that is simply a joy to watch.

For people unfamiliar with Shakespeare this is a great introduction, for people studying the Bard, this is an invaluable resource.

The performance portion of the video consists of Holland reading famous speeches and soliloquies, at times playing 2 roles. The emphasis is on the language and the text, the way Shakespeare intended.
